“Bad habits are like a comfortable bed, easy to get into but hard to get out of.”
In this article, I will discuss how to break bad habits and powerful techniques to combat them.
In order for you to live a better life, there are lots of bad habits that you will need to stop immediately, starting from today. Breaking bad habits will take so many commitments such as time, discipline, patience, and a desire to break them.
Habits cannot be broken overnight. You will break the bad habits the same way you develop them.
Breaking off bad habits can be intimidating especially if you don’t really do it intentionally. You will find yourself going back to those habits every time. Since everyone has the desire for self-improvement, there is a high tendency to do away from bad habits and start developing good ones.
However, the following are the powerful methods suggested by habit-changing therapists and ways to improve the quality of your life.
You must become aware of your habits. What is this habit exactly? How is this bad habit or group of bad habits affecting you? How is this habit affecting others? For example, smoking often has negative effects on others as well as on you. The most powerful technique to break bad habits is to realize that the habit is bad. You need to increase your awareness to give up your habits.
You must be determined to do whatever it takes to break bad habits so that you can have better control of your life. You make a decision that “no matter what” you will change the habit by all means. You do the work required to stop. Here are some examples of habits you might like to change: Smoking, eating too much, eating junk foods, not exercising, drinking coffee or other beverages with caffeine in them, eating too much sugar or fat, drinking alcohol, procrastinating, irresponsible, prostitution, etc.
You must make a decision that breaking bad habits through a conscious effort is a worthy goal. You must be able to convince yourself that the change in the habit is worth the effort involved.
3. Find a substitute:
You can easily break a habit by focusing your mind and heart on different alternatives that will relieve you from devastative behavior. Instead of simply deciding to stop eating junk foods, you can plan to eat fresh fruits and salads. Using substitutes for breaking habits is the right technique that can give long-lasting results.
Figure out positive ways that can meet the same needs which were originally filled out by the bad habits.
4. Write down your goals:
It is a very good idea to write them down on a piece of paper and paste them in visible places, like on the fridge, on the bedroom door, or on your wall.
Again write it down and start practicing it. Seeing it every day will help you to give up a bad habit.
5. Focus on discipline and motivation.
It won’t be easy to finish the job you started without discipline and motivation. Along the way, you will find lots of irrelevant reasons why you should stop what you have planned to do.
It is so easy to give in to your impulses without discipline. No one will discipline you from doing the same bad habit all over again but yourself. Motivate yourself. Concentrate on the positive end results rather than succumb to self-pity and frustrations. Visualize frequently the rewards for following through and the costs of not following through on breaking the awful habits and especially the value to your future of building new better habits.
6. Changing the environment:
Majority of the habit-changing therapists believe that living in an environment that stimulates/encourage your new good habit is the most powerful technique to break a bad habit.
A life amending or improving change requires a good support system. Living in the right place at the right time can really strengthen the quality of your life. On the other hand, if your environment feeds your habit, it won’t be easy for you to give it up. You can try to single out yourself from people who have the same habits.
7. Seek the help of others:
If breaking your habit is very difficult to achieve, you will have to seek the help of others who are willing to assist you in the journey and have the ability to make you give up your bad habit.
Get the support of family and friends. There are just some things you cannot do on your own. You need to ask your family or friends to support you on your journey to break off bad habits.
Most of the time you gain strength from people in your lives, especially in times when you feel like you are at the end of the road when you think you can’t achieve your goal anymore.
Persevere and be patient. Remember whatever you put your mind to, you can certainly achieve it. If the bad habit you want to break off is alcohol or drugs, you need to ask for professional help that will help you in achieving this. You can as well ask your friends to pinch you, whenever they see you smoking or engaging in that bad habit you want to stop.
8. Relaxation methods:
You may find it very difficult to war against the urges, in your effort to break the habit. It is therefore advisable to learn/study some relaxation methods. There are lots of related techniques that can help you in solve bad habits problems.
Breathing slowly and rhythmically can help to release the tension. You can also try Pranayama or meditation techniques to cope with the stress of giving up a habit.

It’s almost impossible to know if you’re focusing on what really matters or prioritizing the right task at the right time. Even if you make a plan, it becomes useless when you get high-priority tasks, urgent messages, and endless notifications that day. To keep up with the pace of work, 80% of knowledge workers say they work with their inbox or other communication apps open. As a result, they become less efficient and easily miss messages, tasks, and deadlines.
Time management templates will help you regain your time and focus fully on your daily tasks. Instead of spending time on a to-do list, you can use a time management strategy to prioritize your daily tasks as intended and focus on the tasks that are most relevant to you.
There isn’t just one right way to manage your time. This article presents 18 tips, strategies, and immediate results to help you manage your work and regain your time.
What Is Time Management?
Time management is managing your work so that you can use your time as intended as possible. Time management can increase productivity, but the great thing about effective time management is that you can prioritize your day well so you have time to relax and take care of yourself.
Benefits Of Time Management
A good time management strategy can help you organize and prioritize your tasks so that you :
• Almost Feel Like The Day Is Getting Longer.
Being conscious of where your time is being spent can help you cut down on unnecessary tasks, de-prioritize tasks that don’t need to be completed today, and get them done in less time. It doesn’t literally mean more hours per day, but you can get more done in the same amount of time.
• Distinguish Between Work And Personal Time.
Improving time management isn’t about squeezing a second in your company to increase productivity. Rather, a time management strategy will help you get the most important tasks done and figure out what can be done tomorrow. You can separate work and personal time by prioritizing today’s tasks and making it clear which tasks can be put off for later.
• Reduce Stress.
If you don’t manage your time effectively, your company can always feel like you’re running out of time. You may feel like you’re in a rush to put out a quickfire by running around. This increases stress and can eventually lead to burnout.

6 Time Management Tips(Strategies) to Increase Productivity
One of the easiest ways to master time management skills is to apply proven time management strategies to your daily life. A time management strategy helps you limit your working hours, handle only one task at a time, and plan your day as intended.
Timeboxing is a goal-oriented time management strategy that completes tasks within a “timebox”. This strategy is especially useful if you don’t know how much time you are devoting to each task and want to be more careful with your to-do list.
Timeboxing allows you to break large tasks into smaller tasks and complete each task in a reasonable amount of time. Each task must have a unique timebox of no more than 3 hours. For example, if you need to write a blog post, you can create a two-hour timebox for your outline. Then, after taking a break, you can create another 3-hour timebox to write your first draft. Breaking your task down into smaller tasks can keep you moving toward your goal for days or weeks.
2. Time Blocking
Time blocking is similar to a timebox, but instead of setting a specific time for each task, you block a period of time in your calendar for a related task. Scheduling your work using time-blocking is a great way to effectively divide your week’s work schedule into individual time slots where you can work on a project, communicate with co-workers, relax, or exercise. Time-blocking allows you to focus without being disturbed, so you can spend more time on your deep work.
To create time blocks, first, figure out your daily or weekly priorities. Then, group similar tasks together so that they can be performed in the one-time block. Finally, you can set up a time block schedule of immersive hours in your calendar and work on it accordingly.
3. The Pomodoro Technique
Similar to timeboxing and time blocking, the Pomodoro technique is a way to get work done in a short amount of time and take breaks between work sessions. The Pomodoro time management strategy is also good for your brain, especially since it encourages you to take regular breaks, eliciting intrinsic motivation. In fact, studies have shown that people become more creative when they take a break.
To use the Pomodoro technique, you need a timer, a prioritized to-do list, and a “snooze” feature for your reminders. Set the timer to 25 minutes and focus on one task during that time without checking for possible text messages or social media. Then, when the time is up, take a five-minute break. The best way is to do something that moves your body, such as snacking during breaks or waking up and stretching. But it’s also fine to check your device or make sure you’ve got an important message while you’re concentrating on your work.
Repeat the process 4 times, working for 25 minutes and resting for 5 minutes. Then, take a long break of 20-30 minutes after your fourth work session.
4. Eat the Frog
Mark Twain famously said, “If your job is to eat frogs, it’s the first thing you do when you wake up.” The frog-eating time management strategy is inspired by this saying and encourages you to tackle the most important and complex tasks first and then the less important or less urgent tasks. This strategy is especially useful when you divide your day into routine tasks and high-priority tasks.
The Frog Eating method allows you to do your most important job every day. Implementing this time management strategy requires tracking tasks and priorities in one centralized tool. Find out how to connect your day-to-day work with your company goals. This will make it easier for you to figure out which tasks you need to prioritize each day and complete those tasks first. Then, once you’ve done the important tasks for the day, you can do the rest.
5. Pareto principle
If eating frogs first in the morning doesn’t appeal to your appetite, you may prefer a Pareto time management strategy. The Pareto Principle is a strategy where you feel more fulfilled and motivated at the start of the day by dealing with tasks that end quickly first, as opposed to eating the frog.
The Pareto Principle often referred to as the “80/20 rule,” has one basic rule. That is, you do 80% of your work 20% of the time. If you can do 80% of your work relatively quickly, you can spend the remaining 20% of your time doing 80% of your work.
6. Getting Things Done (GTD) Method
The Getting Things Done method was devised by David Allen in the early 2000s. According to Allen, the first step to getting things done is to write down all the to-dos. Without relying on your brain, task management tools allow you to focus on getting the job done instead of trying to figure out what needs to be done.
If you want to use the GTD approach, put all your upcoming tasks in one place. After you’ve written all your to-dos, sort and prioritize them. For example, we classify tasks that we no longer need to do (moved to “trash”), tasks that we need to do some time but don’t need to do now (moved to projects or folders “later”), tasks that depend on other tasks, etc. . The tool should know every detail, and it’s up to you to act on it.
No time management tip or strategy in the world can help manage your time effectively if you lack disciple. It’s a distracting world out there and almost everything seeks your attention, it’s now left for you to be laser-focused on this that matters and takes you forward in life. You will be surprised how a five-minute peek at Tiktok can turn into hours! Strive to be disciplined, it’s usually hard at first but eventually turns into a habit.
Goal setting is the first step towards achieving any goal.
Goal setting is a kind of primary management stage, which provides for the definition of the main goal or set of goals and the nature of the tasks to be performed in order to achieve that goal.
Goal and Goal Setting; What is a goal?
They used to tell us when we were little…Have goals my child!
But no one has ever explained to us what a goal is, how to define it, how to approach it, how to conquer it…
And we continued our life dimly having some desires we wanted, living our daily lives trying to solve our problems, to correct our mistakes, and always be behind the facts…
A 20-year study conducted at an American university to set goals showed that:
Out of 100 people…
The 50 have no goals. they move like lost, they have no direction, they reconcile with what comes to them, they get used to and appropriate a life without ‘want’
The 30, have goals, but they are not their own. It belongs to the family, the father, the group, the religion, the party, etc.
The 10, have goals but are unrealistic for their data. The result is that as they chase after them they become frustrated because they cannot reach them easily.
Of the remaining 10, 7 have specific and achievable goals but only have them in mind.
The other 3, who wrote them down and checked them at all times are the most effective. They achieved 10 times more than everyone else together!
This is the power of written, concrete goals.
What is a goal?
A goal is what a person seeks to achieve, an object of an effort, the desired result, something that is desirable to achieve, but not necessarily achievable.
A goal could be said to be the mental representation of a desire, a wish, a need, an ambition accompanied by a commitment to make it a reality. It is the organization of a desire in more specific steps and the effort to follow them successfully in order to reach the desired result. So it is not enough to just set a goal but to commit and strive for it.
Importance of a goal
The following tips will help you to deeply understand that achieving a goal has many more benefits than you can imagine, benefits that will help you become, ultimately, the best version of yourself.
To live means to share. If you follow your goals without giving up, you automatically become an example to be imitated by the people around you, you inspire them to fight for their own goals!
By chasing your goals you become more courageous. Courage is the “fuel” to achieve even more goals in your life. By conquering a goal, you feel more courageous and set the next one with greater ease but also with confidence. The impossible does not exist. The more you strive for your goals, the more you realize that boundaries and obstacles are there to be overcome and that, in the end, nothing is impossible.
A goal determines who you are. When you achieve a goal you strengthen your character. And the stronger you feel, the more the opinion of others does not affect you and no one can tell you who you are.
How to Set goals and achieve them
Goal setting is one of the most common habits of successful people.
Read the biographies of some of the most successful people in history and you will find that they had specific dreams, visions, or goals for what they wanted to achieve and achieved successfully.
I believe that when you set a goal, you have to do three things to achieve the result.
First, you must have a burning desire to get there.
Second, they must firmly believe that the goal is achievable and achievable.
Third, you must meet expectations, that is, you must wait to get the result.
While this may sound a bit philosophical, many elements in the scientific community support it.
The most well-documented example is the placebo effect.
Doctors have found that patients can cure themselves of the disease when they are prescribed strong drugs that are actually sugar pills.
The placebo effect has been extended to cancer research, and doctors are experimenting with treating patients in an effort to get rid of cancer naturally when patients envision themselves as healthy and cured.
Could the same psychological factors that cause the placebo effect to be applied to goal setting and thus help an individual or a business become more successful?
I believe that.
The following tips will guide you when setting your goals
1. Set plain, specific goals for what you want to achieve.
There is no goal without a clear objective or picture of what you want to achieve.
This is the first step towards goal setting. Have an objective in mind, a specific place you need to be in the near future, and have that place at heart. Sit down and decide what you want to achieve, ask yourself what exactly you want. And when you find the answer go for it.
2. Set goals high
We create our own limits. Most of us have a laid-back attitude when it comes to painting a picture about ourselves.
When setting a goal, remember: “A good goal should scare you a little and light you up.”
Think about your current tasks and try them with this rule. If your goals do not frighten you or worry you, try to think of something more demanding. Goals are meant to challenge us and stretch us. Moreover, it is something we have never experienced before! It should sure scare us.
3. Do not let defeat lure you.
The journey towards achieving your goals will not be a smooth one, and I won’t sugarcoat it. It will be a journey of struggle, and frustration at some point. But don’t let fear hold you back. Remember it is always difficult to locate a place you have never been to before.
Always keep your desire high and focus on where you want to get to. Failure is proof of growth, failure is proof you are trying what you haven’t tried before.
3. Set priorities.
It is necessary to single out the main or many goals – the most important, lofty, and ambitious, which above all will positively affect your life (change your destiny as much as possible). Circle the main target (or multiple) with a pointer and arrange them according to the numbers – №1 Most important and further in descending order.
Desire – Faith – Expectation
Your goals must meet the criteria of Desire, Loyalty, and Expectation.
The goal must be something you desire strongly. The greater your desire, the stronger your desire to achieve the goal.
Napoleon Hill said: “If your desires are strong enough, you seem to have superhuman abilities.”
It depends on your belief system. As you achieve more in life, your self-confidence increases. It boosts your confidence and gives you the energy to achieve even greater results.
Have you ever wondered what makes some people more successful than others in their field? Is it by chance or is it luck? There is no luck in success and no one becomes successful by luck. The truth is that successful people just do some things a little differently. In this way, they approach everyday situations differently and of course, their reward is what we briefly call success, as it is defined.
So here are some morning habits that people tend to adopt to achieve their goals and be considered successful. If you adopt them, then you may be closer to your goals and success.
1. Wake up early
It has been found that successful people choose to wake up early to spend time with themselves. So even if you do not work early in the morning, try not to press the snooze on your alarm clock. Wake up earlier and not marginally, calmly enjoy the time you have before you start your work, and invest quality time in yourself and your needs.
A simple change in routine can make a big difference and yield significant results. Successful people are in control of almost every single moment of the day, with the result that they start their day early and are more productive.
According to studies, the time during the day when our brain works best is in the morning, when we have more energy.
2. Feel grateful
A day that starts with a negative mood is almost unlikely to go well. That’s why you should always start your day feeling grateful for what you have. No matter how bad you are when you get out of bed, make an effort to feel grateful for what you have and have achieved, and also for what you can do the day ahead.
I imagine you already know the benefits of exercise in your body. What you may not know is that Exercising early in the morning gives you energy and stimulates you, while at the same time helping you achieve other health and wellness goals, such as proper nutrition throughout the day.
So choose which days you are most likely to be more consistent in a fitness program and establish morning exercise as a process to boost your mental alertness. Through intense exercise, you not only keep your body healthy and alert, but you also develop discipline.
4. Say the magic word
It is important to set priorities and see which projects are more valuable and which are not. You will realize that your last ones “eat” time without offering you many things as is the case with the most useful projects. That’s why it’s important to pay more attention to the most important projects and say some “no” where you think you do not have much to gain.
Still, wondering what the magic word is?
It’s “NO”, my dear. Learn to say no to activities not on your to-do list, which leads us to the next point
5. Written goals
As much as you think it is possible to remember everything you want to do in one day, it is impossible rather. In fact, there are significant chances that you will forget even the most important things you want to do in one day, as you may be “lost” in the vortex of everyday life.
For this reason, it is important to write from the previous night what you want to do the next day so that you have the list ready and organize your day properly.
6. Face failure positively, accept the criticism
From mistakes, we learn. Failure is inevitable, it is not possible to achieve all our goals and dreams instantly. Successful people take control of almost every single situation…
In the modern job market, whatever your profession or position you hold, it is essential to listen to the criticism of other people. In particular, it is important to listen and listen to the best to the worst comments, to evaluate them, and if you think there is something you really need to improve, improve it.
This way you will constantly improve, while you will find that the relationships with your colleagues will be better, as they will feel that their opinion matters.
7. Take risks
It is almost impossible to achieve success if you are constantly in your so-called safety belt. That’s why it is sometimes important to “weigh” the situation and take some risks in terms of your career and personal life. If the risk pays off, then you will have won what you wanted, while if the risk turns out to be wrong, you will learn from it and continue on your way.
After all, as the saying goes, if you never fail, you will never succeed.
8 Put reading in your life; Read daily
Reading is one of the main characteristics of a successful person. Daily reading helps the mind as much as fitness the body. In addition, it enhances memory and vocabulary
The human mind is like a sponge of information: If you fill it with “garbage”, then it will produce “garbage”. If you leave it empty, then it will not produce anything. But if you “feed” it with useful knowledge, then this is exactly what it will create.
Successful people are aware of this and that is why they choose to read a lot of books in order to broaden their horizons. So, if you want to learn more and further develop your critical thinking skills, then put reading into your life…
9. Find motivation
No matter how bad you are in the morning, good motivation can make you more effective than the strongest coffee. The right motivation can activate you and increase your energy. Just take 5 minutes and think about what you would like to achieve by the end of your day and set a goal to complete it. You can!
Meditation, especially when done daily, calms and helps concentration
Most of us have a lot to do every day. Between the endless obligations, there is usually not much time left for you, unless you decide to dedicate time to yourself early in the morning.
Take advantage of this calm part of the day to meditate. Spending some time meditating will reduce stress and anxiety levels, the main enemies that sabotage your energy, and you will start your day calm and strong.
11. Finish what you avoid
There is always something to do and you are constantly postponing it. Instead of trying to finish it, you might continue to wallow in sadness and thus, experience more failure. Do not think too much, just do it! In this way, you are sure to deal better and more effectively with even more demanding obligations that will arise during the day.

The unfair point
Never follow the masses.
Life is structured in a pyramid form, you have a few people who are either successful, leaders, or game-changers at the tip of the pyramid. Only a few are there. And then the average ones, somewhere in the middle, it’s not crowded here as well. Guess the people at the bottom! the masses, they are there because they virtually do the same things and things that don’t work.
Never follow the masses, never focus on what everyone is doing that is not working
Not everyone has a daily plan, some just sweep through their days…
Take these points seriously and watch the magic happen.

Stress symptoms affect millions of people every day, and this can be debilitating. Many people experience these symptoms in times of intense stress while in everyday life their stress is minimal. Others experience panic attacks with little or no warning signs, and these emotions prevent them from engaging in activities they love. Fortunately, there are many ways and treatment options available to manage stress and control its symptoms.
What is stress?
Stress is an emotion that we all experience at some point in our lives. It is often associated with stressful or emotional events. However, there are people who experience the symptoms of stress much more often than others. When stress begins to affect your daily life, it can be a sign that something more serious needs to be addressed.
Stress manifests itself with many different symptoms. Depending on their severity and the causes, each person may experience these symptoms differently. General symptoms of stress include anxiety or nervousness, difficulty concentrating, and difficulty sleeping.
Stress can also occur with physical symptoms such as high blood pressure and palpitations, sweating, tremors, digestive problems, and rapid breathing. For some people, especially those with phobias or panic disorder, anxiety can cause them to feel that they are in danger for no apparent reason and thus avoid engaging in activities that they fear will stress them out.
“Stress” is the most commonly diagnosed mental health disorder among adults. 189-20% of the adult population has an anxiety disorder, and 30% will experience any anxiety disorder at some point in their lives.
Generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and phobias affect women twice as much as men, while social anxiety disorder affects both sexes equally. But only one in three people with an anxiety disorder seek help and I am glad you sought it
Ways/Techniques to manage stress
There are many effective ways and treatments for stress, but there are also some strategies that will help you manage your symptoms.
Here are some ways you can follow to reduce the symptoms of stress
1. Focus on the positive aspects of your life
Stress can make you focus on all the negative aspects of your life, and get stuck in things that you feel have not been handled properly. This can quickly lead to a destructive mindset that exacerbates stress and other mental health disorders. To be able to reduce or avoid this negative way of thinking, try to focus on the positive aspects of your life.
When you start to worry about things in your life that are not going so well, give yourself some time to see what is going very well. If you feel bad about a reaction to a friend or at work, try to think about how this interaction can help you learn and have a positive effect on your future reactions.
2. Keep a diary of your stress
When you feel anxious, it can be difficult to identify what is causing your symptoms. An exercise that can help you with this is keeping a diary and recording what you are feeling. When you feel anxious, write down all the reasons you are worried or nervous and the feelings you are feeling at the moment.
Sometimes, just recording your thoughts and fears can help you work to overcome your worries. You can always look at your diary when you feel stressed or discuss what you feel with a friend or close relative who is sensible and attention, and work on them.
3. Change the negative way of thinking
When you focus on positive thoughts you can overcome the worries, thoughts, and scenarios that make you stressed and anxious. When you are afraid of negative thoughts, then fear will overwhelm you every day. When you feel fear or anxiety, try to see things in a positive light.
For example, when you have too much workload in your place of work that needs to be finished, you can as well set your mind on the pleasant and interesting things you get to do when you are through with the work, it can be time with family, a dinner, whatever it is.
This simple exercise will be energizing as your thoughts are focused on that one thing. The work will no longer influence feelings of stress, rather it becomes an opportunity to pass through to your desired activity.
4. Establish a routine
The routine will help you manage daily activities and minimize exposure to sudden causes of stress. Establishing a routine also helps to achieve what you want in your day, which helps reduce stress as you will not have to leave unfinished work.
Adopt habits such as healthy eating and exercise to improve your physical health, which in turn improves your mental health. A daily routine helps you focus on your schedule and the positive parts of the day without worrying about what each day will bring.
5. Practice relaxation techniques
Relaxation techniques can vary from person to person, as everyone relaxes with different activities. There are many techniques you can try to alleviate your anxiety. Breathing exercises can relieve tension and nervousness, close your eyes and concentrate on your breathing when you feel stressed.
Music, reading, and exercise are activities that help calm the mind. Try what suits you and see what works for you. For me I prefer going to a quiet place, alone with my music when stressed, this helps me get calm quickly, that’s what works for me, yours might be different.
6. Put exercise into your life
Exercise is very important for a healthy lifestyle. It can benefit you physically and mentally. Daily exercise will help you have a healthier lifestyle. There are many forms of exercise that will keep your physical and mental energy away from negative thinking and this energy will be channeled into positive things.
7. Practice acceptance
There will always be things in life that get out of our control, and many times these are the things that cause intense stress. It’s a challenge to overcome the fears and anxieties associated with the unknown, but it is important to understand that no matter how much time we spend concentrating on them, we will not change them.
Recognize some stressful situations or worries, and think about whether you can control them. If the answer is yes, recognize everything you need to do to reduce the anxiety and do it.
If the answer is no, realize that there will always be things in your life and in the lives of others that you cannot change, and remind yourself that this is not a bad thing and accept it.
Thank you for reading through. Stress is very coming these days, especially in a work setting where there is a high demand for your involvement in work. These tips are what I personally apply over the use to ease and alleviate stress in my daily activities.
I know they will work for you as well, just follow through with them and practice them, and you will see yourself being free from the slightest emotions that cause stress.
